Lord Farquaad is one of the main character in the Shrek franchise. His full name is Lord Maximus Farquaad. He is the ruler of Duloc sate. His vocie in the cartoon is given by John Lightgow. He is a ruthless ruler and wants everything in his kingdom to be perfect. Some people do not like his idea of perfect Duloc. Therfore, Farquaad expels them from Duloc and were sent where the Shrek lives. On request of Lord Farquaad, his guard brought the magic mirror into his kingdom. The purpose to bring the magic mirror is to know which kingdom is the most perfect kingdom of all. It is believed that the magic mirror knows every truth. When Faquaad asked the magic mirror about the perfect kingdom the mirror replied that Duloc is not an kingdom and Farquaad is not its king. Hearing this Lord Farquaad ordered to break the mirror, but just then he gave the solution to Farquaad. According to the mirror if he marries a princess he can become a king of Duloc.

Farquaad was given 3 choices to marry a princess and Farquaad selected Fiona. But the princess Fiona was lock in a castle by a dragon. Therefore, Farquaad order to send the best knight of Duloc. Shrek and Donkey got selected for this task and were sent to rescue the princess. Shrek successfully rescued the princess, but o the way to Duloc Shrek fell in love with Fiona. When Fiona reached Duloc, Farquaad immediately proposed her for the marriage and Fiona agrees with it on a condition that marriage rituals should be done before sunset. During the wedding Shrek object the the wedding and due to that their marriage got delayed and sunset happened. After the sunset Fiona turned into ogres because of her curse. Seeing this Farquaad ordered to capture both of them. Later Shrek calls the dragon and the dragon eats Lord Farquaad. Learn more about Lord Farquaad here.
