Get ready to step into the quirky world of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy with our comprehensive costume guide! Whether you’re a fan of Mandy’s dark and mysterious demeanor or Billy’s energetic and eccentric personality, we’ve got you covered with all the details you need to bring these iconic characters to life.
Mandy’s Signature Style
Mandy’s costume is unmistakable with its pink dress adorned with a yellow flower in the center. Pair it with classic black Mary Jane shoes and white socks to complete the look. Don’t forget to accessorize with a black headband to emulate Mandy’s sleek and no-nonsense style.
Hair-raising Details
Mandy’s hair is as unique as her personality, styled into devil horns that perfectly match her sharp wit and attitude. Whether you opt for a wig or style your own hair, be sure to capture Mandy’s distinct look with curved hair resembling devil horns.
Eyes that Pierce
In the show’s regular art style, Mandy has no visible nose, but small nostrils add to her enigmatic allure. However, in anime form, she sports a small angular nose, adding a subtle touch of complexity to her character. Her eyes, typically depicted as black, may occasionally appear blue, offering a glimpse into her mysterious depths.
Underfist Transformation
In the spin-off Underfist, Mandy’s appearance undergoes subtle changes, with thinner eyebrows, bigger eyes, and a wider head. While her essence remains unchanged, these variations add a fresh perspective to her character, perfect for fans seeking a new twist on their favorite dark-hearted friend.
Billy’s Bold Look
Billy’s costume exudes playful energy, featuring a white t-shirt with a thin blue stripe, paired with classic blue jeans and vibrant white and red sneakers. Top it off with a red baseball hat to capture Billy’s fun-loving spirit and adventurous nature.
Unique Features
Billy’s distinct features, including his big pink nose and beady black eyes, set him apart from the crowd. With red hair inherited from his mother Gladys and a reddish skin tone, Billy’s appearance reflects his lively and spirited personality.
Nose Knows
Did you know that Billy’s nose is removable? In true Billy fashion, his nose can even grow back after coming off, adding an extra element of whimsy to his character.
Special Uniform
For fans of the spin-off Underfist: Halloween Bash, Billy’s scientist uniform pays homage to Dexter from Dexter’s Laboratory. This playful nod to another beloved cartoon character adds depth to Billy’s costume repertoire, showcasing his love for adventure and experimentation.

Welcome to my first sewn costume. I had leftover pink, yellow, and turquoise fabric (from Honey and Fai, respectively). I had a ton of Heat-n-Bond from finishing the back of my Fai coat (which I never did). The only thing I actually bought specifically for this costume was the headband, which was under a dollar.
I ironed the dress several times during the con, but that flannel will wrinkle at the drop of a hat. The applique started coming off around the edges, so I had to hot glue it down. (I hate Heat-n-Bond now. Ultra Hold my ass.) I didn't really know what I was doing with the neckline and armholes, either.

I like my expression in this picture (it's at least sullen and annoyed rather than emo), but my hair is bad. I had already taken my Mandy-esque bangs out when Ziggy asked for a picture. I put the headband back on and kind of fluffed my hair forward, but it doesn't really look right. Oh, well.
