Skinny All-Might Cosplay Costume Guide: Outfit, Accessories & Styling

Building the Skinny All-Might Silhouette From Everyday Clothing

The entire costume depends on one trick: wearing clothes that don’t fit you. Toshinori’s civilian wardrobe is built around the contrast between his enormous hero reputation and his reduced physical frame. Every garment should hang off your body rather than follow its shape, so buy your normal sizes and then go one or two sizes up from there.

Start with the white V-neck shirt. It should be plain, cotton, and loose enough that the fabric drapes forward when you lean over. The collar matters more than you might expect—a deep V-neck exposes the collarbone area, which reinforces the gaunt impression created by the eye makeup. If the shirt you find has a shallow neckline, you can carefully stretch the collar seam to lower it slightly, but don’t overdo it or the fabric will pucker.

Army green cargo pants with side pockets are the correct choice for the bottoms. The relaxed fit is essential; they should gather around your hips when belted rather than sit smoothly at your waist. A sturdy black belt does the work here—cinch it tight enough that the pants bunch up slightly at the buckle, which creates that characteristic loose drape down to the ankles. The pants should be long enough to pool just a little over your shoes.

Dark brown slip-on loafers finish the outfit. There’s nothing complicated about this piece. Any simple brown leather loafer or walking shoe will be accurate enough. Since you’ll likely wear this costume for hours, choose the pair you already own that fits best rather than buying something new.

The wig is where you’ll want to spend the most attention. Toshinori’s hair is intentionally unkempt—blond, messy, with two long front strands that frame his face and hang past the chin. A pre-styled wig saves you significant frustration, but if you’re working with a basic blond wig, you can create the two front bangs by sectioning off the front pieces, applying heat to straighten them, and using a small amount of styling gel to keep them separated from the rest of the hair. The two strands should read as distinct pieces, not blended together with the rest of the wig. Bobby pins at the temples will keep everything anchored through a full day, and a travel-sized hairspray in your bag lets you re-separate the bangs when they start to merge.

The sunken eye look requires matte black eyeshadow or contour powder—not liquid liner, which will look shiny and theatrical. Apply the shadow generously around the entire eye socket: across the upper lid, into the crease, and most importantly underneath the eyes. The under-eye shadow is what creates the hollow, exhausted appearance. Blend outward slightly toward the temples to deepen the brow ridge. This is the single most important makeup step for making the costume recognizable, so take your time with it.

A plain white handkerchief is worth carrying. Toshinori’s dramatic coughing fits are part of his character, and having a prop to bring to your mouth during those moments makes the costume feel complete. It doesn’t need to be modified in any way—just a simple white cloth you can keep in a pocket.

The posture sells the costume more than any individual piece. When you’re standing still, let your shoulders roll forward and keep your weight unevenly distributed, as if standing upright takes effort. When you’re posing for photos, you can suddenly straighten up and throw your arms out in a heroic stance—that abrupt shift from frail to energized is exactly what the character does, and it photographs incredibly well. The loose clothing amplifies both states: it hangs limp when you slump, and it catches air when you move suddenly.

Keep the overall presentation slightly rumpled. Don’t iron the shirt to a crisp finish, and don’t worry about the cargo pants looking pressed. The costume works best when it looks like someone threw on whatever was available. That understated, worn quality is what makes the character feel real rather than like a costume.
