Murderbot spends its operational hours encased in utilitarian composite plating, neutral tones, and an opaque face shield designed to dehumanize it while keeping its human-cloned components protected.
Because full custom armor fabrication from scratch can take months, adapting off-the-shelf motorcycle and tactical protection is one of the most effective ways to capture that heavy, segmented silhouette. Layering rigid plates over padded textiles gives the suit the structured, mechanical volume it needs without sacrificing range of motion.
SecUnit Helmet and Faceplate
The completely concealed face is Murderbot’s defining visual trait and its personal comfort zone. You can base the headgear around a 3D printed Murderbot mask mounted onto a low-profile black helmet, or build an integrated harness underneath. An opaque, seamless front visor line is critical here; the entire unit should feel sealed off from the outside world.
Matching raw prints or commercial helmet shells to the rest of the rig usually requires surface prep and color balancing. Applying coats of white paint and grey paint across specific raised bevels establishes consistent corporate paneling. Lightly scuffing edges with fine sandpaper or dabbing diluted grey wash into panel recesses breaks the glossy plastic look and gives the armor a field-deployed finish.
Armored Torso and Segmented Sleeves
