LaBarbara’s outfit is essentially 80s aerobics wear in a Futurama color palette, and that works in your favor. The individual pieces are easy to find, but the specific shades and the proportions are what make the costume read correctly. Start with the color scheme—hot pink, light purple, and red—and build from there.
The wig will take the most work. LaBarbara’s hair is tall and voluminous, with a braided or twisted texture that piles up above her head. A boho braided wig with a high ponytail or bun base is the closest starting point. Look for one with plenty of body, then pull it up and pin it to create height. Green hair ties at the base of the ponytail or bun are a small detail that matters—they break up the hair color and add the exact pop of green she wears. If the wig feels heavy once it’s pinned, secure it with bobby pins crossed through the weft and into the wig cap, not just around the edges.
A hot pink workout crop top is the easiest piece to source. The key is the brightness—it needs to be a saturated, almost neon pink rather than a dusty or pastel shade. Since the top is cropped, the fit of the leggings matters more than the top itself; the two pieces need to meet cleanly at your natural waist so there isn’t a gap or bunching. The leggings are where you should pay attention to length.
