Jevil’s design is all about exaggerated contrast. Between the dark, shadowy purple tunic and the shocking neon lime accents, the sprite translates into a remarkably punchy real-world outfit when you balance the saturation right.
Recreating the look doesn’t require building a court jester outfit from scratch. Starting with standard theatrical separates and swapping in the right high-contrast accessories lets you assemble the pieces quickly while staying true to the character’s erratic, stylized proportions.
The Jester Base and Color Blocking
Jevil’s primary garment is a split-color jester tunic, mostly divided into deep purple and black sections. A commercial Unisex Jester Costume gives you a fast structural starting point for the tunic pattern and the signature two-pointed jester cap. While most store-bought sets come with generic red, green, or black paneling, you can dye lighter sections or use fabric paint on the contrasting halves to match Jevil’s darker palette.

That bright acid green repeats at the feet. While court jesters traditionally wear curved leather boots, Lime Green Slippers offer an easy, comfortable alternative that mirrors the character’s footwear color without needing complex cobbling. If you want the toes to curve upward like his in-game sprite, inserting a small piece of bendable craft wire along the inner top seam helps hold a playful arch.
Hands, Tail, and Silhouette
Jevil’s hands are depicted as rounded, stubby shapes rather than detailed fingers. Wearing Purple Mittens captures that cartoonish, mitten-like anatomy much better than standard five-finger gloves. Mittens also make moving around feel slightly more exaggerated and puppet-like, which fits his movement style.
Behind the tunic, Jevil sports a thin, coiled tail that twists out into a spiral. A plush Purple Tail attached to a sturdy safety pin or looped directly through a belt under your tunic handles the base color. To get that distinct spring-like helix shape, feed a length of 12-gauge armature wire through the center of the tail, then wrap it tightly around a cylindrical bottle to train the curl before pinning it in place.
Face Paint and Expression
Achieving Jevil’s eerie porcelain look starts with an even coat of Grey Face Paint. Water-activated theatrical paint tends to provide the smoothest, most matte coverage without feeling greasy after several hours. Apply it using a damp cosmetic sponge in stippling motions across your face, neck, and ears so no bare skin peeks through behind the green ruff.
Once the grey base dries completely, dust it with translucent setting powder to prevent smudging. From there, use a fine detail brush dipped in black cake liner to paint his wide, manic smile. Extending the corners of the mouth past your natural lip line and sketching small vertical tooth divisions gives you that unhinged, perpetually grinning expression that defines the character.
