Putting this outfit together mostly comes down to sourcing the right base garments and dialing in the proportions. Because each layer sits visibly beneath the next—cravat tucked into the shirt, vest buttoned over the chest, and coat draped over the shoulders—getting the collar heights and fit balanced makes all the difference.
The Trench Coat and Base Suit
The outer coat defines the character’s frame. A double-breasted twill trench in dark khaki works best, particularly if it hits at or below the knees. In many appearances, Ocelot wears the coat unbuttoned or draped loosely over his shoulders to keep his arms unencumbered for weapon handling. Leaving the belt buckled loosely behind the back keeps the front open while maintaining a clean shape.
Underneath the coat, the base layers are surprisingly formal. A navy blue vest paired with matching navy trousers provides the dark backdrop that lets the lighter outerwear and leather gear stand out.
