The entire costume hinges on a bright gold or yellow short-sleeve t-shirt. A standard cotton tee with a relaxed, boxy fit is exactly right—nothing fitted or athletic. The color should be vivid and unmistakably yellow rather than mustard or amber, since it’s the brightest block of the outfit.
For the lower half, dark blue stonewash jeans are the correct choice. The wash matters more than the brand: you want that classic, slightly faded denim texture rather than a flat navy. Straight-leg jeans work best because skinny fits change the silhouette and make the diaper look wrong on top.
The diaper is the defining piece, and it goes over the jeans. A real adult diaper like Depend is the standard approach. Sizing up one or two sizes prevents tearing when you pull it over denim, and it also keeps the fit comfortable for a full day. There is no practical substitute for the real thing—a cloth or costume diaper won’t have the same shape or the same comedic effect.
The blue bike helmet is the most recognizable prop. A hard-shell bicycle helmet with visible air vents is exactly what you need. It should sit on your head with the strap buckled but not cinched tight under the chin; a snug, serious helmet fit looks wrong for this character. The helmet stays on for the entire costume, so choose one that doesn’t pinch.
For the pencil in the nose, a rubber pencil is the only sensible option. Wooden pencils are a safety hazard and will become uncomfortable quickly. A dab of eyelash glue under the nostril holds it securely for hours. If you’d rather not glue anything to your face, tie the pencil to a thin piece of clear elastic string and loop it around your head—the string is nearly invisible from a few feet away.
Black Adidas sneakers with the three white stripes complete the outfit. Any classic Adidas silhouette with the side stripes works, and they should be comfortable enough for a full convention day since there’s no other footwear involved.
Carry a black chisel-tip Sharpie. Jeffy’s marker is a functional prop—keep the cap on while walking around so you don’t mark up your yellow shirt or anyone else’s costume. The marker is also the easiest way to interact with fans who recognize the character.
Since the costume is entirely ordinary clothing plus three distinctive accessories, the accuracy comes from matching the specific details rather than building anything from scratch.
