Brick Total Drama Costume Guide

Brick MacArthur wears a strict military cadet uniform translated into the exaggerated, geometric style of Total Drama. Recreating his appearance comes down to balancing very specific proportions: high-waisted shorts hitting right below the knee, a snug mock turtleneck tucked cleanly at the waist, and heavy black boots set off by prominent white socks.

Because the costume relies primarily on athletic and utility staples, the overall effect depends on how the garments sit on your frame. Everything needs to look pressed, tidy, and intentional, mirroring Brick’s rigid adherence to cadet discipline.

Shirt and Shorts Fit

An army green mock turtleneck forms the core of the upper body. The collar sits higher than a standard crew neck without folding over like a full turtleneck, giving your neck and shoulders that stiff, upright military posture. A fitted cotton or blend with a bit of stretch keeps the torso smooth and prevents bulky fabric folds once tucked into the waistband.

For the bottom half, dark blue capri shorts should fall past the knee to around upper-calf level. Regular running shorts are cut too short and flare out too wide, so opt for long flat-front shorts or tailored cargo-style capris with a straight leg. Secure them with a simple black ratchet belt. The flat sliding buckle stays flush against your stomach, preventing awkward lumps beneath the tucked green shirt.

Footwear and Sock Spacing

Brick’s boots provide solid visual weight to balance out the tight silhouette up top. A standard pair of black combat boots with lace-up fronts gives the right utility look. Lace them all the way up so the shaft hugs the ankle closely.

The exposed socks are an unusual detail that immediately identifies the character. Instead of sliding your socks down into the boot collars, pull a pair of plain white crew socks taut so several inches of white fabric sit squarely between the boot tops and the hem of your capri shorts. Ribbed athletic socks with strong elastic cuffs resist sliding down as you walk, keeping that crisp color division intact throughout the day.

Face Details, Dog Tags, and Hair

Brick’s face is defined by his heavy unibrow. An adhesive unibrow bridges the gap between your natural brows seamlessly. Before pressing it down, wipe your forehead and brow bridge with a bit of rubbing alcohol to remove skin oils, ensuring the adhesive bonds firmly. If you prefer makeup, sketching the center bridge with a waterproof eyebrow pomade or pencil and blending it into your natural brow line achieves the same blocky cartoon look.

A set of standard metal dog tags on a ball chain hangs outside the mock turtleneck. Position the chain so the tags settle right over your sternum against the olive green fabric. If the tags bounce around uncomfortably while walking, a tiny piece of clear double-sided tape on the backside of the bottom tag anchors them flat to the shirt.

A tidy high-and-tight or buzz cut completes his military presentation. If your hair is already short, clipping the sides close to the skin and keeping the top flat reflects his cartoon haircut accurately. For longer hair, a short flat-top wig or buzz-cut cap trimmed neatly around the neckline provides the same sharp, disciplined finish.
